Kevin, a Montréal native, joined IATA in May 2003 as Manager, Security Training, where he was responsible for consolidating all security courses into one department including the creation of an Aviation Security Diploma and managing a joint security training agreement with ICAO.

In early 2004 he was promoted to head up IATA’s airport training programme. This portfolio consists of 15 courses, 3 Diplomas and 10 instructors. In 2007 over 45 airport courses were delivered worldwide in subjects that varied from strategic management to airport certification and standards.

His aviation career initiated in 1995 with the Montreal Airports Authority (Aéroports de Montréal or ADM) who are responsible for managing, operating and developing Montreal-Trudeau and Montreal-Mirabel International Airports.

Over the 8 years with the airport authority, Kevin held various positions. He started with the Director of Terminal Operations for the customer service division as an Information Agent. In 1997 he was promoted to the Directorate of Airport Protection as the Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP) Examiner. Major projects he worked on were; the set-up of a new access control system for Montreal –Trudeau International Airport, new airside safety programs and the set-up and training of the ADM’s own law enforcement department and K-9 Bomb Detection Unit who took over policing responsibilities at Montreal-Trudeau and Montreal-Mirabel International Airports from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Airport Section in 1998.


In 2000 he was promoted to the position of ADM’s Communications Officer under the Vice-President of Public Affairs, which is responsible for communications campaigns, media, community, internal and external relations. During his time with Public Affairs he was a representative on the Airport’s Noise Abatement Committee and was a member of airport authority’s emergency response team.

His educational background is from Montreal’s Concordia University, Majoring in geography with a marketing minor. He also serves on IATA’s Head Office Staff Association and Permanent Green Team (an IATA workplace environmental efficiency working group)
